Equity Commitment

Answering the Call
While this work is my calling, it is also a clear response to so many of my colleagues of color over the years who have told me that they want white people like myself to engage in this work with other white people, especially taking on the emotional labor it requires. My coaching practice is my way of saying "yes" to their request.

The Importance of Representation
Just as we all need to see representations of ourselves and our various identities in leadership roles (to see tangibly what is possible for someone "like me"), I think it's important for white people to see other white people co-leading the work for equity and belonging, and doing so in an uplifting, vibrant, "we've got so much to gain from this work too" way of being and showing up.

The Importance of Investing in Leaders & Staff of Color
While I have a track record of working with people across race and gender on equity issues, I tend to specialize in the coaching and development of white organizational leaders and staff.  I think this is super important and worth the investment, but only if it is done in conjunction with an equal investment in the development of leaders and staff of color.

Here are a few coaches and facilitators of color who I work with and who I highly recommend:

Gabriel Menegale Wilson, coach, facilitator, and author of "Compassionate Conversations"; founder of Freedom & Fairness

Angella Okawa, coach, facilitator and founder of Mindful Diversity

Nita Baum, coach, facilitator and founder of b*free

Kristene Cristobal
, coach, consultant and founder & principal of Cristobal Consulting

Sarah Silva, emergent coach and facilitator
